Through Coursera's digital marketing course, I crafted a food menu app for a fancy restaurant that allows working professionals to schedule and order meals
Project duration: January 2023-August 2023
The Problem - It takes a lot of time to find something to eat, plan meals, or cook on a busy schedule.
The Goal - To understand the challenges of managing everyday scheduling with meal planning, ordering, and free time
Reena is a single working mother who needs a good food app
because she wants to have healthy meals for her busy schedule.
Through the creation of a user journey map for Reena, I aimed to understand her interactions with the product and uncover pain points, barriers, and potential opportunities. Mapping out her journey revealed various challenges she faced, from usability issues to technical glitches. Overall, the user journey map provided valuable insights to guide future enhancements and ensure a more seamless and satisfying user experience for Reena.
The user opens the app to the home page, clicks on the full menu, adds items to the cart, and checks out through the app.
A usability study was conducted to identify areas where the app’s design and functionality could be improved to meet its users' needs and preferences.
Round 1 Findings:
Option to sign in to save rewards
Choose order type
Option to gain rewards
Round 2 Findings
Add a favorites button to reorder meals
Schedule orders for a later time or pickup
Add a user profile page for loyalty and rewards
Upon launching the app, users are greeted with a home page that showcases the restaurant's brand identity and ambiance.
The high-fidelity prototype shows the complete user flow, including the addition of a profile screen and sidebar menu. It also meets user needs for ordering food. Here is a link to the prototype
Impact: This study shows that users want to use an app that is familiar and welcoming when it comes to the ordering process.
“The app has an intuitive interface and user-friendly features. The process was smooth and helped to order food seamlessly.” - feedback from peer
